Again, Martha supervised our toilet and dressing, telling us to hurry on we would be late for breakfast, and Madam did not like tardiness. Martha was getting together clothes for us, and I asked her where our own suitcases were and why couldn't we wear our own clothes. All we got from Martha was "Madam ordered these things. She wants to go through your suitcases first." This made us cross, that we could not have our own things until Aunt Louise had examined them first! We were handed identical clothes, which seemed so silly to me. Juvenile vests and panties, then little sun on playsuits, one piece and with short legs and sleeves. Mine was blue and Babs', pink. They were back-buttoning and had a little self-matching belt. The front had quite a low V neckline. With them we wone little white socks and one strap sandals. I felt quite a fool in this little outfit, and emasculated wearing flyless panties underneath. I told Martha I had the wrong underpants, but she said not; that there was no need of panties with a boy's fly, since I was wearing a one-piece play
suit.

Ready, Martha ushered us downstairs, where we saw a strange sight. In the hall, having just come in from the back garden were our aunt and two cousins. Aunt Louise was strangely dressed in a middy blouse and flaring wide navy bloomers, while Carol and Mabel were dressed identically like ourselves in the one piece playsuits. We said good morning, and Aunt Louise introduced us to our cousins. They were very reserved and subdued, but their manners were so impeccable that Babs and I almost laughed, as Mabel curtsied and Carol bowed, mind you, to their own cousins! I suppose in the eyes of their mother, we showed up badly, for all we said was "Hil How are you?" But that was not all! For Mabel came and kissed that was Babs full on the mouth, and I suppose alright, for girls seem to like a lot of kissing and hugging, but worse, she came and gave me a kiss as well. Then Carol came and kissed Babs, and I was afraid that he was going to do the hand for a same to me, so I quickly stuck out manly handshake.
